How to Correct Teeth Alignment
How to Correct Teeth Alignment
There are basically 2 major ways to correct teeth alignment: braces and invisalign. Each has its own pros and cons. Check with your dentist in Philippines which will fit your particular case.
The more coveted look than mere light retainer is being braced. It has become a status symbol for some because it is quite expensive for many ordinary people. Unlike retainers, it cannot be removed anytime unless a dentist does it. You eat and brush and sleep with it. It used to be a teasing subject too but it has become acceptable even to teasers. Probably because you cannot have braces without having enough money which no ordinary person can just afford. Being braced is not an easy way to look beautiful because it actually hurts over time. Eating will be difficult. It will really take sacrifice and endurance to go about this procedure. You will lose weight because of new eating habits. Depending on your perspective, it can be good or bad. Your dentist in Makati can tell if you need braces.
The Invisible Aligner
Invisalign is a new technology in alignment which is more acceptable among adults, especially those who use their faces to earn a living like models and actors/actresses. When worn, it is not obvious. It is quite invisible if you compare it with traditional braces. You do not have metal all the time. You have to wear it at least 22 hours a day. The only time you can remove it is when you eat, drink or brush your teeth. At least you can clean your teeth more effectively within a shorter time period. It gets replaced when it is time like if it no longer serves its purpose. It is less painful also. It is more expensive, though, than traditional braces.
What to Expect with Invisalign Treatment
There are several steps to take. The first is getting the invisalign records to be able to get the 3D image of your teeth. A treatment plan will be prepared so that each tooth will move exactly how it is meant. A series of aligners will be made which are custom-fitted for you. After about 3 weeks, the piece is ready to be set in your mouth which will run for about 45 minutes including the instructions that will be given in order to use and care for the aligners properly making sure that you do not interchange the lower and upper aligners. You will see an engraved U (for upper) or L (for lower) to dismiss the confusion.
Put equal pressure on the left and right molars gently until it snaps into place. Never bite to position it to avoid damaging the aligner. There are chewies to help with that. When removing, use fingertips or a removal tool starting from the back and work around to the other side. Immediately rinse with water, shake and store in the protective case provided.
